Hi everyone, I created a recipe for soft doggie treats. My Mom's litte dog Harry is old and has lost several teeth. He needed a nutritional soft "cookie" and he loves the recipe I came up with (after many trials:-). Anyway, give them a try and let me know how your hounds like them. Nick, Petey and Harry LOVE'em!

Nick and I are doing great - Nick really enjoys country living. I really miss you all and wish I could be helping with the retired racers once again. Nick and I attended the local Humane Society fundraiser - Nick came in 4th Place in the favorite pet contest and I came in 1st in the Chili Cookoff contest. Both were neat fundraisers; people paid $1 to vote for their favorite pet; and, after the taste testing was done for all the chili entries, people paid $2 for a bowl and spoon - all the chili entries were in crock pots and people could have as much as they wanted. It was a small fundraiser in a very small town but they managed to raise $6,500 that day.

The Humane Society here, like GPA Indy, relies soley on donations and foster homes. A generous couple who own a lovely Bread and Breakfast on the outskirts of town have donated a portion of their property so we can build a shelter - the deed to the property has been signed, sealed and delivered. A local architect has designed an abosulte great shelter for dogs and cats which include rooms where people can spend time with a prospective pet, it has doggie runs in grassey areas with trees and bushes - plenty of room to run around, and the area for the cats has been designed with a bunch of sunny windowsills for the cas to lay in. I don't want to take anything away from GPA Indy but if anyone would like to contribute to our building fund (we need $100,000 to break ground), please send a check payable to Stone County Humane Society, 759 Sunset Valley Drive, Mountain View, AR 72560. It would mean so much to the many stray cats and dogs that few really care about up here in the hills.

I hope you (and your hounds) are happy and healthy. I miss you all very much. If you need any advice or info about any problems you may be having with your hound(s), please feel free to ask me- I have about 10 years experience in the fostering and adopting of greyhounds so feel free to ask - regardless, I would love to hear from you all - please let me know how you are doing - I think about you all a lot. Happy Holidays! Much love and hugs, Kat
