I hope everyone is enjoying the unseasonably warm weather we're having, and
want to bring to your attention some special meet and greets we're
participating in this weekend, so you can enjoy it to it's fullest extent!
We have 3 special events this Saturday the 7th, two of which are in dire
need of volunteers: First of all, there's Bark-toberfest in Pendleton,
which Brent and Rebecca Land are hosting, and they do not yet have any
volunteers. This event is a first for us, but promises to be a fun event,
so if you and your greyhounds are free, click on their link to volunteer!
Dave and Lynda Lilly are hosting our meet and greet booth at Petfest 2006
Fall Adoption Day, this Saturday the 7th. This event is sponsered by
Hoosiers Helping Homeless Pets, and is held at the Bark Park at Eagle Creek.
Please contact Dave and Lynda on their link and they can tell you what to
bring in order to volunteer. We've done this event for everal years and
always have a greyt response to our greyhounds.
The last event for this Saturday, the 7th, is Broad Ripple Animal Clinic's
Open House. The focus this year is a pet health fair; "Boomer" and
"Bowser" will be appearing, and volunteers are invited to stay after hours
for live music from "Dog Talk." Bev Creamer is heading this event up, so
click on her link if you would like to volunteer.
The last event in October in which GPA Indy is participating is a big one:
The annual Fall Foliage Festival held in Martinsville, Thursday, October 12
through Sunday, October 15. Don't let the threat of inclement weather stop
you from volunteering: Earlene has it covered, literally! There will be a
tent for the booth with a heater inside just in case the weather doesn't
hold. They will also open their home to volunteers as a comfort station if
needed. Keith and Earlene need help on the weekends, but are in particular
need on the weekdays, so if you're available to help, please contact
Earlene.
Lastly, my thanks to everyone who has volunteered without my nagging for the
Christmas Gift and Hobby Show at the Fairgrounds Wednesday, Nov. 8th through
Sunday, Nov. 12th. We still have plenty of room for volunteers on the
weekdays, but the weekend is starting to fill up. If you would like to
volunteer, contact me soon! We will have free parking passes for this
event.

Thanks to all our wonderful volunteers!
