GPA Indy Message QUAKER DAY WE WON FIRST PLACE!!

Hello Everyone!

I would like to take a moment and say THANK YOU to everyone who participated
in the parade today!  It was wonderful to see all of the hounds at the
parade today, it was a long, hot walk, and they were troopers!  It was great
fun to see all the hounds trotting down the street to the beat of "Rescue
Me" !  I would like to take a moment to also give out special thanks to
Marjorie and Delbert Dunbar, for providing the truck and securing our
donated trailer.  Also, to Mary Schmitter for providing the bandana's that
were given out for all of the pups to wear!  Marjorie and Mary also helped
to decorate the trailer, which was no small undertaking.  Delbert Dunbar
built the frame and the benches and attached it to the trailer, it started
out as a regular flat bed trailer, so a BIG thank you to him.  Vonda Arnold
was our DJ and candy re-fill person for the parade and she did a great job!
Also,  special thanks to Jennifer Glass for being our photographer! She will
be mailing me a disc with all the photos and we will be getting them posted
on the website very soon! The two young ladies who carried the banner were
wonderful! Thank you to both of them, as well as ALL the kids for their help
to pass out the candy!  Steve and Dianne Jones held down the booth during
the parade, and I am told they were quite busy even before the parade
started!  I can't thank you all enough for coming out to participate today,
especially all of our "new" adopters!  It was great to see all those boys
and girls who have recently just been adopted!  I would invite those
families to please feel free to volunteer for any future events that you
can.  This is the time of year where we have many outdoor events, festivals,
adoption fairs, and special events!  It is always great to see new faces,
and I would like to give you all a special thank you!  We hope to see you
more often!

Now for the fun stuff, last year we won second place for Plainfield pride
unit.  Well that was last year, this year we moved into a new category, due
to the truck and trailer ( we didn't have one last year).  As a result there
were only three categories we were eligible to enter. This year we were
given the 1st place award for Most Original Unit!  Congratulations everyone!
The trophy will be on display at the picnic!  Pat yourselves on the back,
and hug your hounds!  Hope to see you all again next year!
