GPA Indy Message September 30th Hound Haul

Hello All,

This email is a plea for foster homes. We are
currently scheduled to take 20 greyhounds on Saturday,
September 30 from Daytona.  We are far short of the
number of foster homes needed to accommodate this many
dogs.  There are many reasons for this current
shortage.

•	Some of our regular foster homes were on the Picnic
Team and need a well deserved break after planning the
BEST GPA Picnic ever!
•	Some of our long time foster homes recently adopted
their foster dog.
•	We have foster homes with hounds that are not
available to be adopted yet due to medical conditions
or rehabilitation from surgery and are not being shown
on the website.
•	Some of our regular, long standing foster homes
still have foster dogs (I still have two fosters and
cannot take a hound this time.) 

If you have fostered in the past but have not fostered
in at least a year, you are currently not considered
an ACTIVE Foster home, which means a home visit will
need to be scheduled before a foster can be placed in
your home. 

If you know someone in the group that you think might
be a good foster home but they have never fostered
before. Please mention fostering to them and suggest
that they complete an online foster application. 

If you know of an adopter who has not become involved
in the group that you think would make a good foster
home, please mention fostering to them and suggest
that they complete an online foster application. 


We will need to recruit new foster homes over the next
several months to keep up with the quantity of
adoption applications being received. This is good
news! It means we are spreading the word about how
great greyhounds are as pets, and more people want to
adopt. The bad news is we cannot do this without more
active foster homes. 

If you are interested in fostering a dog from the
September 30th load please respond back to this email.
  If you have a GPA Indianapolis crate but cannot
foster at this time please contact Marjorie Dunbar
about making arrangements to get the crate back to GPA
Indianapolis.
