GPA Indy Message Our Ren

Our Ren was a GPA Grey, and we will forever be grateful to those who
introduced us to her. Our greys have changed our lives in so many ways. I
want to thank each and every one of you who made it possible for my family
to share such a special spirit. She brought us joy and laughter and showed
me that I am never to old to fall in love....
Friday evening, very quietly, surrounded by those who loved her, our Ren
slipped over the Rainbow bridge to wait for us on the other side. We will
always be grateful to those who introduced us to her, as she became the
great love of our life. Little did we know that she would take so much of
our hearts with us when she left. 
We had noticed that off and on she would have a slight hitch in her gait,
but the vet assured us that it was probably just arthritis. The Rimadyl
helped, and she would go back to being the spry little girl that we loved so
very much, but this evening she fell while attempting to climb the stairs.
We saw the break immediately and took her to the emergency vet hospital. The
x-ray said it all...Cancer in the bone. The break would never heal, and the
vet assured us that the cancer had set in well enough to be aggressive. The
kindest thing to do was to set her free from her immense pain. She never
stopped showing her love in her eyes even in the face of such pain. We did
all we could to thank her for sharing her life with us and we held her close
while her pain ebbed away. 
My heart is broken beyond words as is my family's. G was right there to show
comfort from the moment we walked in the door, showing what a special boy he
is. He no doubt will need special love and attention for some time to remind
him that he is still the other love of our life. Words cannot describe the
special love that raced into our hearts the moment that our greys looked
into our eyes, but I do know that we will never be the same.
