Hello Everyone!!

I wanted to thank everyone who came out and walked the Quaker Day Parade Mile today!! Even with the threat of rain it was a great turnout!!! We had two songs that we played and had some requests for information on the second song; the name of the song was “Greyhound” by Nancy Simmonds. I found it on I tunes. There is also another greyhound song she does called “Miami, Retired Racing Greyhound”. There are a few people in particular that I need to give special thanks to for an enormous amount of hard work, and long hours in preparation for this event! First of all, Marjorie and Delbert Dunbar, for loaning us their home, truck, and sound system. Marjorie and Delbert continued to work long hours getting ready for this event, even after Witco’s passing Thursday night! I can’t thank them enough for all they have done even after all they had been through! It goes without saying they have shown a great amount of dedication to not only this event but also GPA Indy, even in
the most difficult of times. I can’t tell everyone enough how much we appreciate their efforts and their help! Also, Mary and Tim Schmitter, Tim helped Delbert build the frame of the trailer, and helped with the sound system too! Mary Schmitter, who is one of most creative people I know, helped Marjorie and I in so many aspects of preparation, and put in so many long nights, she was very close actually to just renting a room at Marjorie’s! She has put in a lot of hours, and creative efforts along the way, Thanks Mary!! Sharon Murphy volunteered her services for decorating the trailer, as well as coordinating the booth!! Thanks Sharon! Vonda Arnold also helped decorate the Trailer! Thanks Vonda! Ashley Carter, and Heather Corbett spent a lot of time making the “Star necklaces” for the dogs to wear, and also, made sure we kept our decorating on schedule last night by asking, “Are we done yet?” Thanks Girls! Thank You to all of our volunteers for making this one of
our biggest events, ever!!!!! Can’t wait till next year!! Unfortunately we did not win any trophies this year, but that’s ok! We still had fun!! We had a great turnout today with a total of 32 dogs! WOW!!!! That is GREAT!! If anyone has good digital pictures of the parade from today, before, during, and after, or group shots please email them to me at avongreyhounds at yahoo.com as soon as possible. I am having a photo collage print made for the picnic! Again, we can’t thank everyone enough for participating, and showing off your hounds! Hope you all can make it next year too!
