All,
I hope that you are all having a great holiday season, and that this is a time spent with family and friends!  It is also a time to think of others that are less fortunate.    This is also a time that we can look back on events of the previous year, and reflect on lessons learned.
There have been a number of pets that have been lost and recovered, and some were returned to their owners because they were micro-chipped.   I know that our hounds have a special place not only in their adoptive families’ hearts but all greyhound owners alike.   The thought of one of these great pets being lost with no collar or no tags is daunting.   How would they get back home if found?   I also realize the cost of micro-chipping your pet can be hefty especially if you have more than one, and let’s be honest, most of us do!
If this is something that you have thought about doing, but didn’t have the funds there is an opportunity for you to not only safeguard your pet with a microchip, but help those less fortunate at the same time.
The Indianapolis Humane Society is hosting a special event this weekend,   on Saturday, December 6th, from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M.  where you have two options.  You can pay $10.00 to have your pet chipped, or it’s free if you bring five (5) non perishable food items for Gleaners food bank.   If you have further questions or want additional information, please contact the Indianapolis Humane Society at 317-872-5650.
Wishing you all the very best Holiday Season,
Michelle Carter
