GPA Indy Message Heath Question

My husband and I adopted Jag in Indianapolis a few years ago.  Unfortunately he has been very sick.  He has had two complete blood workups since July, along with some other testing (all which came back normal according to the vet).  He has lost 12 pounds since summer.  His stools are very loose, almost water.  But his stool sample came back clean.  He was on Metronidazole for four weeks and is on his second week of Prednisone now.  He was barely eating any food.  We actually switched him from Science Diet (which he has been on since we adopted him) to Royal Canine last week.  He loves the new food and is eating it.  But even with a good week of eating he still lost another pound and a half.  His energy levels have been up this past week since he started the new food but still is not acting his usual self.  Before the new food, he was pretty lethargic.  The vet does not have anymore suggestions except for keep trying different medicines, unless we decide to take him to a specialist and have exploratory surgery, etc done.  



Has anyone seen these symptoms with their greys? or have any suggestions?
