Our beloved Alves, age 13, died November  15, 2009.  She was a resident of
 Nineveh
 Indiana .  
Alves was born March 13, 1996 to Little Buckette and ML Hammer, she was 
one of eight liter mates.
  
Survivors include her adoptive parents Thomas & 
Venita Garrigus, her adopted brothers My Sergeant and Slade, adopted sister 
Skylar.  She was preceded in death 
by her adopted brothers Bernie, Rainer Rewind (Charlie) and Lil-Lyle, her 
adopted sister Hurricane.
  
Alves was rescued by Greyhound Companions in the fall of 
1998 and was placed in the foster home of Ann Berry in Beach Grove, she was 
later sent to the foster home of Tom and Venita Garrigus where she was soon 
adopted on November 5, 1998.  Alves 
spent the next eleven years being a mentor to several foster doggies as well as 
her adopted brothers and sisters.   
Alves traveled many states to visit her friends and compare retirement 
stories, her favorite part was being able to sleep on the beds in the hotel and 
all the treats and toys she would get, she would hide them under the pillow from 
her brothers and sisters. 
  
Our beautiful black beauty Alves is now at the
 Rainbow
 Bridge reuniting with her brothers and 
sister as well as all her special friends she met along the way, she now runs 
and plays pain free as she did so many years 
ago. 
Run free my black beauty, We all miss you.
